Omnibus is a unique lending collection of portable exhibits, media
programs, extension workshops and public talks. Omnibus is an outreach
project of the Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission and its
two historic site projects:
Cornelius
Low
House /
Middlesex
County
Museum
East
Jersey
Olde
Towne
Village
Funded by the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the New
Jersey Historical Commission, these programs are unique to the Commission.
Award winning and designed to address Core Curriculum Standards for
History, the Omnibus projects have been seen by tens of thousands of young
people and traveled to veterans homes, assisted living centers and other
community gatherings.

Scheduling
Programs may be
scheduled for a site within MIDDLESEX COUNTY, for instance at a local
elementary, middle or high schools; for municipal or township
organizations, at libraries; historic sites and preservation societies;
senior citizen & community centers; for scout groups and other local
nonprofit organizations.
Education
Exhibits
consist of mounted images and text, historical artifacts, photographs,
posters and drawings packaged in easy to carry kits or displayed on
light-weight kiosks. They are easy to handle and perfect for school groups
or other organizations wishing an educational display. Media presentations
are formatted as slides or VHS video.
Public Talks at Your School or
Community Location
Some of the
Omnibus projects are interactive workshops, suitable for students. These
are conducted by staff, at your site. A limited number are available.
Museum staff will travel to your site, conduct hands on workshops, lead
discussions and answer questions
