STAR SPANGLED CONCERT
STAR SPANGLED CONCERT.
The Board of Chosen Freeholders sponsored its annual Stars & Stripes Forever Concert to a near full-house at the State Theatre in New Brunswick on Sept. 14th.
The profits from this event, as in the past, go to defray ancillary costs for those students attending Middlesex County College under the 9/11 scholarship program established by the Freeholders for the children of 9/11 victims living in Middlesex County.
The 2003 concert was again co-chaired by David B. Crabiel, Director and H. James Polos, Freeholder.
The highlight of the concert was the performance appearance of the Glee Club of the United States Military Academy at West Point for the first time in New Jersey in its 100 year history.
The Garden State Symphonic Band set the musical tone for the concert which featured the nationally renown Westfield Fife & Drum Corps, the bagpipe solo artistry of East Brunswick Police Det. Ron Keaveney, the Wyoming Elementary School Children's Chorus of Millburn and Ms. Laurie Angela Hochman, singing her self-composed musical version of the Pledge Of Allegiance.
