Middlesex County Department of Parks and Recreation
Middlesex County Conservation Corps
Volunteer Program

Individuals are being sought for the Middlesex County Conservation Corps. The Corps was proposed by Freeholder Director, David B. Crabiel and is administered by the Middlesex County Department of Parks and Recreation. The Conservation Corps was developed with the specific mission "to protect and preserve our natural areas from misuse, polluters and the forces of nature" at the more than 6,000 acres of Open Space owned and maintained by Middlesex County.

Volunteer work continues year-round with several different opportunities including plant and animal inventories, trail reconnaissance and monitoring, invasive plant removal and native plant restoration, trash clean-up and more. No special skills are required, although volunteer candidates should have an interest in and enjoyment of being outdoors. Volunteer days and times are flexible.

Past projects have included tree planting, beach sweeps, and help with conservation and recreation efforts on National Trails and Earth Days.

For more information, and to obtain a volunteer application, contact Valerie Lysenko at the Middlesex County Parks and Recreation Department at (732) 745-3064 or download, fill out and return the following forms:
