The Division
of Labor Relations
The Division of
Labor Relations, in conjunction with the Personnel Director, handles
employee grievances on a daily basis. Most grievances are resolved informally.
Resolution usually occurs informally by phone or at the first, second
or third steps of any given grievance procedure.
Other responsibilities
of the division include:
- Distribute and
answer correspondence regarding labor-related matters
- Coordinate and
keep Labor Relations calendar for Arbitrations, Grievance Hearings,
and Negotiation Sessions
- Classify County
employees into appropriate bargaining unit
- Generate Labor
Agreements for execution
- Conduct legal
research in all areas of labor law in the anticipation of Interest
Arbitrations, Grievance Arbitrations and P.E.R.C. Hearings as necessary.
- Place employees
in correct job titles, salary ranges, and/or compensation schedules.
