Dear Resident,
Welcome to the Middlesex
County Shared Services Website. Middlesex County has long been an advocate
for Shared Services and Co-Operative Purchasing. Nearly eight years
ago we established the Common Cents Co-Operative Purchasing Program
which uses the County's buying power to reduce the cost of goods and
services for all Municipalities in Middlesex County. Last year we joined
the Common Cents Program with the Middlesex County Education Services
Commission buying group to provide new buying opportunities for all
Middlesex County School Districts.
In April of this
year Middlesex County was awarded a three year $100,000 per year State
Grant to establish a County Office of Shared Services. In May the County
established the office and appointed Maria Sirimis to serve as the Director.
This web-site was designed to provide you with up to date information
about Shared Services and Co-Operative Purchasing initiatives. It will
also provide links to the State and other sites which can provide valuable
information about Shared Services.
Middlesex County
has been recognized by the State of New Jersey as a leader on issues
of Shared Services and cost reduction through cooperation and bulk-purchasing.
We will continue to develop new innovative ways to reduce the cost of
delivery of services as we work with our partner municipalities and
school districts. We also intend to invite the private sector and business
community where their participation will be useful in helping us achieve
our goals.
If you have any
suggestions about Shared Services or Co-Operative Purchasing please
e-mail me at james.polos@co.middlesex.nj.us.
Sincerely,
H. James Polos
