The Community
Awareness Bureau is responsible for providing the general public
with information and education about many different subjects. The
bureau creates and presents specialized programs on topics such
as drug awareness, crime prevention, personal safety, consumer fraud
as well as the function and responsibilities of the Sheriff's Department.
The audiences who request these informative programs are as diverse
as the presentations. Senior Citizen Associations, Schools, Scout
Troops, 4-H Clubs and VFW Organizations are only some of the groups.
One of the bureau's most popular programs is the fingerprinting
of school children.
Members of the
Community Awareness Bureau often participate in Career Opportunity
Seminars, Safety Awareness programs and local fairs and festivals.
